Best Free Blogging Platforms: Create a Free Blog Today

1. Blogger.com

Blogger or Blogspot tops my list of free blogging platforms. Blogger is owned by Google and has been providing free space for beginners. All you need is a Google account to get started.

Maybe I should be more precise as to what a Google account is. Well, if you have a Gmail, that’s also a Google account and that’s the passport you need to get started with a free blog on Blogger Blogspot.

With Google’s Blogspot, you won’t only be able to create a free blog, but also be able to upload your own themes to give it a professional look. Unlike other free blogging platforms, Blogspot gives you the right to edit your blog templates and redesign your blog exactly how you want it to appear.

You also have unlimited space for articles, images, and even videos for each and every article you want to publish.

2. WordPress.com

Wordpress.org is not free but wordpress.com is. Creating a blog shouldn’t be different. Just like Blogspot, WordPress is also an easy-to-use platform. All you need is an email and you’re halfway through setting up a free blog.

You’re also allowed to try different themes and designs to help make your blog look more professional. However, you can’t edit your theme or add third-party plugins.

3. Tumblr.com

This used to be almost like a social media platform. Although it remains the same, Tumblr is now considered one of the best free blogging platforms you can come across.

With Tumblr, you can easily follow other blogs you find interesting and reblog their content on your personal blog. it is a great place for starters.

However, unlike Blogger and WordPress, Tumblr has many limitations. If you’re only blogging to share pictures, gifs and maybe just a couple of texts like quotes, then Tumblr might just be what you need.
If not then I recommend you stick to WordPress or Blogger.

4. Weebly.com

Weebly is a free, simple and user-friendly platform that gives you hundreds of templates to choose from. You can set up a professional blog using Weebly and even have an option to create an e-commerce website if you choose to.

However, expert coding options are not available. So, if you want to change HTML and ccs codes on the blog, you may find it difficult.

5. iPage.com

This is one of the best free platforms in 2019. iPage is considered to be one of the easiest ways to create a blog. It is a popular website that hosts millions of free blogs.

It is a good place to start a blog if you’re not a techy person and of course if you want one for free.

6. Wix.com

Wix is a place to start both free and paid blogs. Initially, this was made for creating websites but you can, however, create a blog on Wix. Creating a blog on Wix is pretty simple.

This is a drag and drop website builder that offers over 500 templates to give your blog a professional touch. With Wix, you can upgrade your blog to the paid version anytime.

However, the free version is still okay for beginners, they offer you 500MB free storage and 1GB bandwidth.

7. Yola.com

This is another popular platform in the blogosphere that can be used to design any kind of blog. Yola is also free to use a platform that gives you free 1GB storage and bandwidth. Although Yola limits you a bit, you still have many customizable templates to choose from.

8. Jekyll.com

Creating a blog is so easy with Jekyll. You are allowed to host your blog for free. Jekyll takes your raw text files and turns them into a robust static site to host everything you need for a blog. Want more good news? Okay, there’s nothing like working with technicalities.

9. Medium.com

Medium is an online publishing platform that looks pretty much like twitter. However, you’re able to write more than the 280 characters as permitted on Twitter.

Medium is free to join and if you’re looking for a place to start writing, then Medium could be your best choice.

You can simply signup by using your Facebook or Google account. and of course, you are allowed to upgrade at any time to get the best experience. Upgrading is $5 per month.

10. Postach.io

If you want to make a free blog with ease, you can use postach.io to create a free blog today. Postach.io provides you with themes to give your blog a good design. It also allows you to connect a notebook and tag notes as published to make them public.
